Regulations now in force in Ireland set out the rules for disclosure of the beneficial ownership of express trusts, revoking and replacing the previous regulations introduced in 2019. They clarify the types of express trusts caught by the legislation, requiring trustees to obtain and hold accurate and current beneficial ownership information, some of which must be filed at a central register in line with the EU Fifth Anti-Money Laundering Directive (5AMLD).
