New Zealand will introduce a new top personal tax rate of 39 per cent on income above NZD180,000 from 1 April next year, Associate Minister of Finance David Parker has announced. It will be supported with 'integrity measures to address issues like people sheltering income in trusts to avoid the top tax rate', he added. A major reform of the country's trust law is already scheduled to come into effect on 30 January 2021 in the form of the Trusts Act 2019.
