The US government has agreed to a global minimum corporation tax rate of 15 per cent, significantly lower than its earlier proposal to the OECD's steering group on base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS). However, the Department of the Treasury says it regards 15 per cent as 'a floor' and that discussions on the so-called Pillar Two minimum tax rate should be continued, aiming to reach agreement on a higher rate.
