In the financial remedy case D v. D (2020 EWFC B24), a district judge awarded the wife a GBP110,000 lump sum from the GBP527,000 combined net assets, primarily the value of her husband's house. She also obtained two years' maintenance totaling GBP21,000, even though they had separated a few months after being married, she had not brought any assets to the marriage and the husband had paid off her indebtedness on marriage.
